Legacy Soil, Future Roots.
FORTY ACRES & A DARE
In the early 1900s my ancestor Pink “Pinky” Jackson accepted a wager to survive two weeks in the Alabama swamps. She did—and the challenger paid up with “forty acres and a mule.”
POWER IN THE SOIL
Pinky was a Black woman land-owner decades before women or African Americans could easily hold title. Her brother’s courage earned him the honor of Eddie Jackson Road, a street named for a free Black man in Jim-Crow Alabama—almost unheard-of.
NEVER WORKED BY ENSLAVED HANDS
This acreage was carved out after emancipation; its rows were tended by free Jacksons, not overseers. The ground still carries their grit, their faith, their right to self-determination.
LEGACY IN OUR HANDS
Today the rows rest—rich with minerals, memory, and untapped promise—ready to rise as Jackson Estates: a wellness haven, heritage farm, and beacon of Black generational wealth. I’m Rae, the bloodline of Pinky, carrying her vision to the next bold step. Join me as we wake the soil and honor a legacy that refuses to fade.
STAND WITH ME—RE-SEED THE SOIL.
Every gift keeps Brewton’s historic Black-owned farmland Black-owned and proves our roots reach deeper than history’s erasure.
